Australia will grant 6,000 visas to Pakistani students in upcoming days

The Deputy Prime Minister of Australia has agreed to provide 6,000 visas to students from Pakistan.

At this time, Ms. Hina Rabbani Khar paid a visit to the Australian Deputy Prime Minister Richard Marles and had a conversation with him about issues relating to their shared interests.

She also mentioned the difficulties Pakistani students had obtaining visas to study in Australia.

She made a plea to the Deputy Prime Minister of Australia to resolve the immigration issues for those Pakistani students who had been attending schools in Australia but had to return home because of the Covid 19 outbreak.

The decision to provide visas to 6,000 Pakistani students was made by the Deputy Prime Minister of Australia, Richard Marles.

MOFA also tweeted that: MOS @HinaRKhar met Australia Deputy Prime Minister @RichardMarlesMP on sidelines of #CHOGM2022 in Kigali; agreed to identify priority sectors for enhanced coop; sought help in facilitating return of 6000 Pakistani students enrolled in Australian Universities, back to Australia.

The Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, Khar, also spoke with Nanaia Mahuta, the Minister of Foreign Affairs for New Zealand.

The two leaders came to an agreement to expand Pakistan and New Zealand’s collaboration in agriculture, fisheries, and renewable energy.

They also expressed excitement over the prospect of the New Zealand cricket team returning to Pakistan to compete at the highest level.
